Frequently Asked Questions
Powder Brows are a form of semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing that creates a soft, mist-like shading effect to mimic the look of filled-in brows. Unlike traditional cosmetic tattoos, the pigment is placed in the upper layers of the skin, allowing it to fade beautifully over time. Results typically last 1 to 3 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and skincare regimen.
This technique is highly versatile and accommodates all skin types, including oily and mature skin. It is an exceptional solution for anyone looking to define their natural arches, fill in sparse or over-tweezed areas, or fully reconstruct brows. Pigment shades are custom-blended to flawlessly complement your natural brow hair and skin undertones.
To ensure your safety and optimal pigment retention, please review the medical criteria below before booking.

Initial Session (1.5–2.5 hours): Cynthia will meticulously map, shape, and style your new brows for your approval. Once the design and custom pigment selection are finalized, the procedure begins.
Follow-Up Touch-Up (30–60 minutes): Scheduled 6 weeks after your initial session to perfect any minor areas and ensure longevity.
The immediate healing phase takes 7–14 days, while the true colour will fully set within 3–5 weeks.
Directly after the procedure, the area will show slight redness, and the pigment will appear significantly darker, fading by 40%–60% as it heals. Mild flaking is completely normal; please do not pick at the skin, as this will compromise pigment retention. Around week two, the brows may appear temporarily light or milky (known as "milk skin") as the deep tissue heals from the inside out. Your true, radiant colour will emerge once fully healed.
Discomfort is mild to nonexistent. After the "first pass" (typically under 10 minutes), Cynthia applies a high-strength topical anesthetic and reapplies it throughout the session to ensure absolute comfort. Most clients describe the sensation as light scratches or feel nothing at all.
- Post-Care Sensation: The area may feel similar to a mild sunburn with slight redness or swelling.
- Preparation Note: You may take Tylenol prior to your arrival if desired, but do not take aspirin or ibuprofen.
Because the pigments are placed superficially, they will naturally fade over 1 to 3 years. Longevity depends entirely on your skin cell turnover rate, sun exposure, and lifestyle. Clients with oily skin or those who frequently use cellular-turnover products (AHAs, BHAs, Retinoids) will experience faster fading.
To keep your shape and colour pristine, a refresh touch-up is recommended every 12 to 24 months.
To prevent blood thinning, which pushes pigment out of the skin and compromises your results, these pre-care instructions are strictly mandatory.
7 Days Prior:
- Discontinue all facial acids, retinols, glycolic acids, and chemical exfoliants.
- Discontinue multivitamins, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, turmeric, ginger, and fish oil/omega-3 supplements (Iron is okay).
- Ensure a 14-day window has passed since your last dose of antibiotics.
- Avoid tanning beds.
- Gently clean up the brow area with light plucking only (no waxing or threading).
48 Hours Prior:
- Discontinue anti-inflammatories (Advil, ibuprofen, naproxen, Aspirin). Tylenol is permitted.
- Avoid all alcoholic beverages.
Day of Appointment:
- Avoid working out.
- Strictly No Caffeine: This includes coffee, decaf coffee, caffeinated teas, sodas, chocolate, and kombucha. No exceptions.
- Gently exfoliate your brows in the morning using a damp, soft cloth only.
Failure to Follow Pre-Care: Following these guidelines ensures clean visibility for the artist and flawless pigment retention. Should an additional touch-up be required due to a breach of pre-care guidelines, a $100 fee will apply.
